There used to be a website called rvunfriendly. We have phone service, and satellite internet, and full hookups for an RV. It is a favorite place for in-state visitors, but provides the out of state guest with a wonderful opportunity to experience the rich flora and fauna of this densely wooded lake area.
If you're looking for a "real" Montana experience, we know of no better destination than this family owned peaceful and scenic retreat located near Big Timber.
Additionally, more than a few RVers are not confident about backing into a site, and will try to avoid parks that require that they do so. This park makes our list not because it is in any way "fancy" though big rigs will find it easy herebut mostly because of the "Betty" part.
Of course, I look for a site on the creek side of the road. Modem hookups are available, and most recently the park introduced WiFi through Nomad ISP at rates that are more reasonable than most fee-based services.

Located directly on a busy Interstate, noise is a factor. This Forest Service campground is located on Highway 12 -- the route over Lolo Pass -- and is just 12 miles west of the Montana border. Ask for a site in the "WiFi area".
If you want a place to launch a boat this RV park or campground has a launch ramp. After the first required 10 hours to work off the site additional hours may be available but not required.
It is located on the lake and has nicely landscaped sites with full hookups. Nor will you anywhere else for a couple of hundred miles, because this is a true "back country" location.
This applies to both public and private parks. The campground has sites including 83 standard, 63 tent, and 6 yurts. If you like paddling our information or reviews suggest this destination has opportunities to canoe either onsite or close by.
Any park that wants to participate in this segment of the market simply has to have facilities to support the basic needs of the size group it would like to attract.
